Document dimensions and power
Provide the equipment model, rack height, depth, weight and power connectors. Record expected power draw, redundant power supplies and cooling requirements so rack space and electrical arrangements can be assessed.
Specify networking and remote access
Describe port rates, data transfer, IP quantities and private connectivity needs. Confirm out-of-band management and remote access arrangements, and include the actual networking and power specification in the quote.
Plan logistics and maintenance
Agree on shipping, installation, cabling, acceptance and equipment retrieval. For onsite assistance, define service hours, permitted tasks, spare parts and fees, and keep equipment and contact records up to date.
